After a 20 years' absence, movies returned to the Mobile Saenger Theatre in 1995.

Joachim Street was closed to traffic, the local antique automobile club displayed period vehicles in front of the theatre, & a street party was held prior to opening the doors. Ushers & concessionaires were dressed in period costumes, and, also for the first time in 20 years, popcorn was sold. Lots of popcorn. A full house reacted wildly when the curtain opened on the MGM lion & the 1952 classic "Singin' in the Rain".

Here are the evening's program & some photographs taken before the movie started.
